Japan Internet is the largest and most impressive Internet centre in Mawlamyine and has 50 brand new computer terminals all with flat LCD displays. The Internet here is faster than most other places around town, however, it can slow down to a crawl when it gets close to full capacity. There are many attendants available to help you should you need it, although few speak English. All terminals are well equipped with video cams and headphones and front end USB slots for your USB pen drive to transfer pics and other data for emailing.

Japan Internet (or Japan Computer Centre as it reads on the outside of the shop) is an Internet Cafe in its true sense. The computers are all located on the second floor and on the first floor is Japan Cafe, a modern cafe serving exotic coffee as well as pastry, cakes and ice cream. It opens daily at 8:30 am and closes at 9:30pm.

Unfortunately, Japan Internet is located in Zeigyo, far from the main part of town and getting there by seikah taxi (motorcycle taxi) will cost about 700 kyats for the 5 kilometer ride. Being far from the other Internet centres closer to town may actually be advantages as when the Internet connection is down in the Zeigyi area, it is usually unaffected in Zeigyo which makes it a handy back-up if you are in desperate need for an Internet connection.

Japan Internet is located on Upper Main Rd, Zeigyo, next to the main Zeigyo mosque. Rates are 500 kyats an hour.
