Myint Ka (Horse Car) on Strand Rd
Myint Ka (horse car) is still a popular way for locals to get around in Mawlamyine. Although economical to operate for the owner, animal rights activists are few and far between in Myanmar such that no-one seems to object to using this as a form of transport. Costs for using the myint ka is similar to using the seikeh taxi (motorcycle taxi) despite having lower overheads for the operator. Myint Ka are usually found operating to and from Dai Wun Kwin and Zeigyi areas, a distance of only 2 kilometres over flat terrain.
